ANNOUNCEMENTS
AUGUST 5, 2011
The FTDNA is pleased to announce the launch of a new
feature: Y-DNA "Third Party" uploads. This will allow for the upload of 33
and 46-marker Y-DNA test results from Ancestry, GeneTree and Sorensen's SMGF.
The FTDNA will be charging a nominal fee of $19 per person to import third
party results into Family Tree DNA. This $19 fee will be credited to
customers who order upgrades or add-ons. For an additional $39, customers
who transfer their third party results will also have additional markers
tested so that they can receive matches to Family Tree DNA's 25 or 37-marker
level, ancestral origins, and other features of the personal page. If you
know someone interested in ordering the Third Party transfer, send them to
this link:

The expansion of Y-DNA testing to 111 Markers is now being offered by FTDNA. Presently, we only recommend this expansion if you are already tested to the 67 Marker level and still have questions about your relation to other matched participants. Simply log on to your FTDNA account and order the upgrade.
Because of this huge results expansion, the old Results Page cannot be easily managed with 100% accuracy, therefore we have changed to a Results Page that is generated by FTDNA. There are many advantages to this; the page is always up-to-date, the page loads faster for viewing, and membership maintenance can be easily done by the administrator by web access, which means that there will be no more downtime over holidays or other times when the administrator is not available to make updates.
We are asking all members to become familiar with their account access to FTDNA, which provides great detail for your individual matching and preferences, AND allows you access to the full services that you paid for with DNA testing. Please help by entering your "Most Distant Ancestor" (Paternal) in your Preferences page at FTDNA. If you don't know what your "Most Distant Ancestor" information should be, contact me at the link below for any information we may already have on file for you for your Kit Number.
If you have lost your FTDNA login information, contact FTDNA at info@familytreedna.com and provide them your KIT number and request that they send you your password.
The Group pages will still be maintained by the administrator. Please bear with us while we work on improving the design of those pages.
