I am looking for sponsorship for the 37 marker dna test. I have documentation linking me to Abel Hill in South Carolina (gf Valdry P. Hill, ggf George P. Hill, ggf Ashworth Hill 1815 Pickens S.C. gggf George W. Hill 1760 York Co. S.C. possible ggggf Abel Hill 1730 VA, ) Valdry changed his last name to Rhea while in acting in a Vaudeville show in the early 1900’s. There is also linkage to another branch of Hill’s, on my ggm Fannie Acker (George Hill’s wife) shows a connection through her gm Ruth Halbert to William Halbert husband of Elizabeth Hill, daughter of William Hill of Exssex Co. VA. I have reached a stone wall and believe with this test I might finally make a breakthrough. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mark Rhea,

I would like to sponsor a Hill whose surname who has a solid paper trail leading back to locations in Hertfordshire, England, especially the St. Albans area, in the 1600s. My descendant is Abner Hill, DNA Group 12, and I think there is a possibility that our Hill emigrant may have come from that part of England prior to 1700.

I have been researching my Hill family for 45 years and have only been able to go back to George Hill in Loudoun Co., Va. in 1820. He later migrated to Western Pa., Beaver and Washington counties. I recently came across several sites linking him to Reubin Hill of Richmond County as his father without documentation of course. Are there any dna tests on this Reubin Hill family and would someone like to sponsor my dna test?

I am a descendant of Thomas Hill, b. 1781/1786 in VA, d. 1853 in Wayne Co., TN. On Oct. 19, 1815 in Pulaski Co., KY, he & Elizabeth Felkins, b. 1795/1797 in Fauquier Co., VA were married. They had 3 children in KY. Moses, one of the sons & my lineage, was born in KY in 1822 & d. in TN in 1880; he married Susannah Sanderson, also b. in KY in 1829 & d. in TN in 1877. By 1850 Moses & Susannah and Thomas & Elizabeth had moved to Wayne Co., TN where they lived until they died and were buried there. I have hit a brick wall with Thomas Hill. I have a brother who will take the DNA test but I need help with sponsorship.
Thanking you in advance, Linda (Hill) Drumheller:

I’m seeking a sponsor to expand my 25 marker test to either the 37 or 59 marker
refinement. I’m a descendant of James HILL (b. 1763 in Pennsylvania, d. 1862 in
Hardin County, Ohio), who is part of Group 27 on the results page. Currently I’m
a college student studying history in Oregon and my personal finances are quite
limited. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Seeking a descendant of John HILL b 1734 RI & Polly EASTMAN: Their children [sons Caleb, John, Tilton & Abial] were born in first Dutchess Co NY and then across the Hudson River at
Wallkill in (then Ulster) Orange Co, NY. Most of those children stayed in NY State but after the Revolution, Caleb migrated to OH. John was a great-grandson of Samuel Hill born 1638 MA & Martha Hansford of Dorchester, MA Colony. I will consider sponsoring or co-sponsoring a descendant of this line, subject of course to my review of reasonable proof and documentation.

The HILL DNA PROJECT is seeking sponsors to help pay for the extended testing for some of our earliest 12 Marker participants in GROUP 12. Some of these participants were the earliest sought-out members of the study because of their well-known work in Hill research. Some of these earliest participants are now deceased. The DNA samples are still on file. Having the extended testing is as simple as placing any other order. Having the extended 25 Marker or 37 Marker results for GROUP 12 will be extremely valuable information. I urge the members of GROUP 12 connected to some of these earliest 12 Marker participants to communicate with each other and find a way to sponsor the extended testing. A simple email to me will start the process. Byron Hill

I am interested in sponsoring 10 individual "HILLS" (not "HILL") DNA tests for whom family records trace to the early 1800's or earlier.  My goal is to resolve a nearly 125 year dispute about the relationship of several HILLS families for whom there are missing records from the 1690's in Hartford. I am also interested in testing several English HILLS to see if there is a common ancestor between them and the American lines. If there is anyone needing sponsorship with the surname "HILLS" (not "HILL"), I would be open to looking at either a full or partial sponsorship depending on the amount of available family information on the individual and their location. Results will be posted and grouped with other HILL or HILLS on this site.

I’m Susan Hill living in Huntsville, AL. My family line dead ends in Simpson County, Mississippi in 1850 with John & Permelia Hill and their twin children Morgan M and Martha J. I am from Morgan’s line. Morgan had a brother John H. who married Octavia.  Oddly enough, in 1850, there is another ‘set’ of John & Permelia living in the upper part of Mississippi, but they have different set of children and are older.I’m able to follow the line to current times.

My father is now 79 yrs old. It would please me more than anything to find out just where John plugs into on the HILL line before 1840. I have much more detail information on Morgan, his mom and siblings, but limited details on John.  His last child was born in 1863 (John H.). I do know that Morgan as a young boy traveled with his family to Georgia.  This would match with the family disappearing in 1860s.  Possibly Permelia went to stay with family after her husband was killed?  I am a single parent with little income that is already divided out towards making ends meet Is it possible to get a sponsorship for the DNA test?

I am a Hill family historian from PA. My ancestor, Patrick Hill, from Cavan Ireland, came to America in 1864. I have spent 25 years researching my Hill family line. His grandfather in Ireland was Luke Hill, original spelling of Heele. He was born in Cavan in 1761. wife was Anne_____ sons were Owen and Patrick. I can provide everything on my family line in Ireland and America from 1761 to present. I would like to be considered for sponsorship. This is fascinating. I find the study the obvious next step in proving I am a descendent from Ireland. Thank You, I am William J. Hill, 1062 Twining Rd. Dresher, Pa. 19025-1728
